English Summary
Ed Zitron rolls up two weeks of public data: Fidelity's Jurrien Timmer calls the AI trade 'dead money for more than three months' with token expenditures and H100/A100 lease rates flat to down; Morgan Stanley estimates more than half the GPU servers sold between 2026 and 2028 might have nowhere to plug in, Jefferies extends the bottleneck to people, transformers and cooling, and AI-related debt issuance should run around $570B in 2026. The core framing: OpenAI and Anthropic make up 70-80% of AI revenues and compute demand; over $400B of 2027 AI investment is debt-funded and hyperscalers remain $124.2B short of break-even even counting both labs' revenues. Oracle's Project Jupiter triggered a force majeure notice; CoreWeave's 2025/26 bonds would be 35.8% more expensive if issued today, with 11-13% yields in the best case.
English Source Excerpt
Last week, Fidelity Director of Global Macro Jurien Timmer said that “the \[AI trade\] has been dead money for more than three months,” citing that both token expenditures and GPU lease rates were all “flat to down,” citing specifically rental rates for H100 and A100 GPUs. While the counterargument might be that Blackwell GPU rental rates aren’t included, as I discussed last week, it’s questionable how many B200, B300, or other Blackwell chips are actually available for rent, as it appears that anywhere from $200 billion to $300 billion of NVIDIA’s sales since 2022 are sitting in warehouses or unplugged in data centers waiting for power.
